Rosacea Skin Care-Cleansing the Skin

The Cetaphil gentle cleansing bar is the one we have found to be most effective at thoroughly cleansing the skin to remove any traces of dirt, oil, makeup, leftover sunscreen, or topical treatments applied that if left on the skin too long can lead to clogged pores and increased pimples. Cetaphil® is manufactured by Galderma Labs of Paris, France with world wide offices which you can search for a purchase location within any country. Other options in cleansing bars include:

Dove "normal white bar" that has been known for years for use on sensitive skin. Dove can be found worldwide or online at Dove.

Neutrogena (the transparent facial bar) "dry skin formula - fragrance free" is very good. Neutrogena is available for purchase at most pharmacies and drug stores or you can shop online at Drugstore.com.

Noxzema Shaving cream for sensitive skin (yes in the red can). It has Dimethicone and is super for sensitive skin. Noxema Shaving cream can be found at Drugstore.com. Just use it as you would the three above soaps, except you press the button on top to get the soap lather.

Simply wet your face with a clean, wet wash cloth to hydrate your skin well. Then using the wash cloth, cleanse with the Cetaphil bar. The wash cloth will act as a gentle exfoliant to help remove all traces of dirt, makeup, and dead skin. Rinse thoroughly with a generous amount of water to hydrate the skin.

After washing the face with Cetaphil, which is a 'moisturizing gentle cleansing bar for dry sensitive skin', place one drop of Jojoba oil in your 'wet hands'. Rub the hands together so that the one drop is equally divided and dispersed over both hands. Apply Jojoba oil with wet hands equally to both sides of a face which is 100% wet. The sensitive or damaged rosacea skin needs small concentrations of Jojoba oil for the following reasons:

1. To help reverse damage to the epidermis caused by harsh soaps, facial washes, and rosacea topical medications.

2. To help replace moisture lost from the use of facial washes and topical medications.

3. To help enhance skin healing (cell division and growth) within the middle layer of the epidermis.

4. To help penetration of topical Rosacea-Ltd III through the epidermis.

5. To help normalize sebum excretion (related to acne).

6. To help normalize keratin sloughing off from the dermis (related to acne).

7. To help normalize the production of inflammatory substances (prostaglandins) in the dermis of the skin.

The importance of Jojoba oil derives from its similarity to the natural restorative oil produced by the sebaceous glands in the dermal layers of the skin.
